EBNER was commissioned by an established chemical company from Germany to investigate the conversion of several dryer lines as part of a feasibility study.

As part of the study, EBNER examined whether and how the drying process could be electrified by recovering waste heat from the dryer vapors using mechanical vapor recompression. The aim is to completely dispense with the use of natural gas in order to be able to operate the drying systems in a climate-neutral manner in the future.

The scope of delivery included, among other things:

  • Process flow diagrams
  • 3D model
  • Designs and drawings for shell and tube heat exchangers
  • Equipment lists
  • List of electrical consumers
  • Mass and energy balances
